The Boston Globe has named the Skowhegan-based company it’s top pick for ice cream in the Pine Tree State.
And customers won’t argue with that.
“We love coming here. It’s almost like a summer tradition. We come as often as we can. It’s great ice cream,” said Andrew Boone while enjoying his coffee milkshake.
This year, the company introduced their outdoor adventure series. Rhonda Charett, the manager at the shop in Bangor, said “We have Appalachian Trail, we have Campfire Smores, we have Golden Road Butter Brickle, we have Fly Fishing Fudge, we have Mt. Katahdin Crunch.”
One of the sweet shop’s most popular treats is a frappe. I decided to test out the machine and…at least TV 5 Photographer Kenn Tompkins liked it.
After the frappe fail, the manager at the Bangor location suggested I try the Wildberry sundae, but I decided to leave the ice cream making to the experts.
