About Jackie De Tore

anchorJackie De Tore is a TV news anchor and reporter at WPMT FOX43 in Harrisburg. You can catch her anchoring FOX43 News First at 4 on weekdays. Jackie also covers business and consumer stories. She started her own investigative consumer segment called FOX43 Finds Out.

Before coming to Harrisburg, Jackie was a reporter and fill-in anchor at WNEP Newswatch 16 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. WNEP is one of the highest rated local news stations in the country. During her time in Scranton, Jackie was the lead reporter on an investigation into the biggest real estate fraud case in the state and the manhunt for accused cop killer Eric Frein. Prior to working in Pennsylvania, Jackie was an anchor and reporter at WABI TV 5 in Bangor, Maine.

In February 2012, Jackie was chosen as the winning reporter for  KABC’s “On The Red Carpet” College Journalist Contest, beating out over 200 college journalists nationwide. As the winner, she reported  live on the red carpet at the 84th Annual Academy Awards for ABC. Jackie had the opportunity to co-report along side Cameron Mathison for a live  pre-show and web show. She interviewed Hollywood’s biggest stars including George Clooney, Jason Segel, Tina Fey and Meryl Streep.Red Carpet

Hofstra University alum with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism, Jackie started her career covering Long Island news for WRHU-FM and Hofstra Today. She won numerous awards at WRHU, including 2011 and 2012 On-Air Talent of the Year and first place for the Associated Press Bill Leaf Memorial Award best regularly scheduled local news program.


A Long Island, New York native, Jackie also gained experience at 1010 WINSNews 12 Long Island, the New York Stock Exchange, The New York Mets and WJVC My Country 96.1.

    Jackie, You do a great job. Have you ever noticed all the large metal containers around the area from ? Non profit groups collecting clothing and items You see them in all most all parking lots. Are there any regulations and the validity of the groups that have the containers. Are they non profit or for profit and who operates them and are they from the area. I saw one container and it said the group was from Baltimore Judy a suggested story. Thanks
