Before coming to Harrisburg, Jackie was a reporter and fill-in anchor at WNEP Newswatch 16 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. WNEP is one of the highest rated local news stations in the country. During her time in Scranton, Jackie was the lead reporter on an investigation into the biggest real estate fraud case in the state and the manhunt for accused cop killer Eric Frein. Prior to working in Pennsylvania, Jackie was an anchor and reporter at WABI TV 5 in Bangor, Maine.
In February 2012, Jackie was chosen as the winning reporter for KABC’s “On The Red Carpet” College Journalist Contest, beating out over 200 college journalists nationwide. As the winner, she reported live on the red carpet at the 84th Annual Academy Awards for ABC. Jackie had the opportunity to co-report along side Cameron Mathison for a live pre-show and web show. She interviewed Hollywood’s biggest stars including George Clooney, Jason Segel, Tina Fey and Meryl Streep.
A Hofstra University alum with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism, Jackie started her career covering Long Island news for WRHU-FM and Hofstra Today. She won numerous awards at WRHU, including 2011 and 2012 On-Air Talent of the Year and first place for the Associated Press Bill Leaf Memorial Award best regularly scheduled local news program.
